PIERCETOWN IRISH WOLFHOUNDS

Wichita was born at Antonia and Ludovica Salamon's "della Bassa Pavese" kennel in Italy. Gregor and I went to Italy when the puppies were two months old to choose a puppy. They all looked so alike that in the end the puppy chose us. Her name was Wichita. On the way to her new home she soon found herself a better place than the back of the car - close to Gregor, on the front passenger seat.

Although Wichita is a member of the Pierce pack, she lives with our friend, Gregor Plaskan. This is his first wolfhound and Wichita is teaching him the basic rules of "how to live with a wolfhound". It looks as though he's a good pupil - he understands that day-time naps must take place on the living room sofa and at night she allows Gregor to share the big bed in his bedroom.

Wichita loves her new best friends, Nana the miniature schnauzer and a German Shepherd. Nana is nice young lady who has bonded with Wichita very well. They play together a lot but when those wolfhound teeth bite too hard, Nana knows just how to get away from her - did you ever see a wolfhound catch a running schnauzer? No? Exactly!

Wichita's second best friend with whom she plays endlessly is Hulda. When they are together they meld in to one, and they are together constantly. They both love water and their paddling pool must be available to them at all times, otherwise we find them in the dogs' drinking bowl! Their play can be gentle or rough but in the end it's always Wichita on top of Hulda.

Wichita is very lovable puppy, which is why she is everybody's favorite. She loves Gregor, adore his brother Romi and is always happy to see Gregor's mother and other family members.
